Kee Dome® Skylight Fall Protection
A free standing skylight fall protection system which does not penetrate the roof surface.
Stand-Alone or Collective
Kee Dome® is a modular system designed specifically to prevent falls through skylights, rooflights and domelights. The modular Kee Dome® system allows contractors and maintenance crews to access rooftops for repair and maintenance work safely and easily without the risk of falling through glazed areas. The skylight guardrail system can also be used in seamless harmony with our other fall protection solutions.
Quick Assembly
The Kee Dome® system features a number of standard components which can be assembled around the designated area with maximum speed. These include vertical posts, hand and knee rails together with associated 90° corner components, and special recycled PVC feet with clamping rings. Kee Klamp® fittings and tube are used to construct a rigid frame. Various sizes are available designed around standard tube lengths of 1.5, 2.0 or 3.2 metres. Once the steel tubing rails have been cut to size, they can be locked into position by the corner components. The adjustable clamping rings are used to fix the feet securely to the corners of the rooflight base, which can be up to 4m 2 in area. Additionally a gate can be incorporated for access to roof hatches.
Fully Modular
Although designed as a permanent solution, the Kee Dome® system is fully modular, so it can also be taken down, moved and re-erected as required. Once constructed, it provides a maximum permissible horizontal load of 300 N/m and complies fully with the relevant rooftop safety legislation and EN 14122 pt3. The system is suitable for use on all roof surfaces, with a maximum pitch of 3°.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE DESIGN AND INSTALLATION OF KEE DOME SKYLIGHT PROTECTION SYSTEMS.
ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS FOR KEE DOME
Before assembly / installation, check the roof area concerned is free from the following:
Snow; ice; lubricants; loose substances or; any obstructions that would prevent installation of the feet.
Check if P.P.E. is required for the duration of the installation.
Position the feet at the corners (right against the corner).
Position the clamping ring into the slot of each base (ensuring the grub-screw is accessible).
Drop a pre-assembled upright into each base
Measure the required length for each rail
Cut rails and assemble
Make sure bases are still against the skylight / curb.
Tighten grub-screws to 39N/m.
SPECIFIC LIMITATIONS
N.B. Please note that the ‘wobble’ evident in an individual upright assembly is necessary for manufacture and installation, and disappears when the installation is complete.
The system is designed as a complete unit, and should not be used with gates or openings.
Do not use Kee Dome (or Kee Guard) for attaching safety lines / wires, lanyards or abseiling lines.
The system is re-usable, but the grub-screws are not, and must be changed if the system is dismantled and reinstated.
Fittings that are, or appear to be welded, modified or damaged / defective must not be used.
Fittings should be positioned to minimise any collection & retention of rainwater by grub-screws.
Do not mix Kee Klamp fittings with any other brands.
MAINTENANCE REQUIREMENTS
In the event of Kee Dome being ‘used’, the system should be checked and any damaged items replaced with Kee Klamp original parts. Without such an occurrence the system must be checked ‘yearly’ to ensure no damage has been sustained, and that grub-screws are still to the correct torque
TRANSPORTATION AND STORAGE
There are no particular limitations as to transportation and storage of fittings other than they should be kept in a dry and ventilated environment.
ALWAYS REFER TO AUTHORISED KEE KLAMP PRODUCT LITERATURE OR TO THE WEBSITE (www.keesafety.com). FOR FURTHER INFORMATION ON THE USE OF FITTINGS AND THEIR ASSEMBLY AND INSTALLATION. IN CASE OF DOUBT, ASK KEE KLAMP LTD OR YOUR LOCAL AUTHORISED KEE KLAMP DISTRIBUTOR.
