This brief history shows how the group started with the invention of the Kee Klamp® tubular fitting to become the world's leading supplier of structural tubular fittings. History shows the company has been successful in expanding geographically as well as introducing innovative new products. Since 1934, the company has produced over 100 million fittings, many of which are still in use today!

1934

  • Mr. George H. Gascoigne and his colleagues invent the fitting concept in Reading, England for the manufacture of milking stalls.

1936

  • Geo. H. Gascoigne Co. Ltd begin selling KEE KLAMP fittings

1957

  • Company facility established in Toronto, Canada

1958

  • KEE KLAMP fittings first exported to Germany
  • North American sales office established in Buffalo, NY

1961

  • KEE KLAMP sales office opened in Germany

1966

  • North American warehouse established in Buffalo, NY

1981

  • KEELINE handrailing is introduced in the UK

1983

  • BTR purchases Thomas Tilling and with it, Kee Klamp

1993

  • KEENECT ballustrade product is launched in the UK
  • TÜV approval obtained for 130 KEE KLAMP fittings

1995

  • Investors in People award achieved in the UK

1996

  • Management buys the Kee Klamp Group of companies from BTR

1997

  • ISO 9001 recognition achieved in the UK

1999

  • Kee Klamp Ltd opens an office in Paris, France
  • KEEGUARD free-standing roof edge protection launched in Germany

2000

  • KEEGUARD free-standing roof edge protection launched in USA and Canada KEE LITE range of aluminium fittings launched in USA

2001

  • KEE LITE range of aluminium fittings launched in the UK
  • TÜV approval obtained for KEE LITE components
  • KEE HATCH Roof Hatch Railing Systems launched in USA

2002

  • KWIK KIT railing kit launched
  • KEE LITE range of aluminium fittings expanded in 1 1/4" and 1 1/2" sizes
  • Access Technologies Ltd acquired by the group

2003

  • KEE LITE range of aluminium fittings expanded in 1" and 2" sizes
  • KEEGUARD free-standing roof edge protection launched across Europe

2004

  • KEE ANCHOR system launched in the United Kingdom
  • KEEGUARD Contractor system introduced in the United States and Canada
  • KEE HATCH Roof Hatch Railing System is made available in Canada
  • BEAMCLAMP range launched

2005

  • KEE ACCESS launched in the United Kingdom
  • BEAMCLAMP fixings introduced in the United States, Germany and Canada

2006

  • KEE DOME Skylight Protection Launched in the United Kingdom, Germany and France

2007

  • Kee Safety opens an office in Dubai

2008

  • KEE STAINLESS launched in the UK
  • Kee Safety acquires Dunn & Cowe Ltd, a leading UK supplier of fall arrest anchor devices
  • Kee Safety launches its East European business
  • Personal protection product range launched

2009

  • Kee Safety opens an office in Poland

2010

  • KeeLine horizontal life line launched
